New Build Design For Rural Plot

For this project we obtained Planning in Principle approval for this new build house in a rural plot in Fife.

We carefully considered the site’s natural contours and positioning, ensuring the best possible arrangement for a drainage design and optimal views across the surrounding countryside. We incorporated a range of sustainable materials and renewable energy sources, including solar panels, solar thermal panels for hot water and heating, and a natural grey water recycling system. We also included a green roof above the utility spaces and entrance porch to enhance biodiversity and insulate the flat roof porch connection.

Our design uses a palette of materials that is derived from the traditional rural aesthetic of Fife, interpreted in a modern way to fit our eco-home concept. The house features natural sandstone and Scottish larch cladding, with triple-glazed windows and doors and a red corrugated profile metal, with sections of living sedum roof.
