Extension and Renovation, Markinch
The client needed a home that was adaptable for future use and was fully accessible for wheelchair users.
The living and dining spaces were extended with features including a large glass window with recessed electric blind and curved ceiling in the living room. Double glazed doors in the dining area and living room open on to the terrace where an accessible ramp with a sleek glass balustrade leads down into the well established garden.
A large master bedroom suite with a level access en-suite wet room was also created on the ground floor level, along with a new widened entrance vestibule. A floating timber staircase leads to a third bedroom with en-suite and an additional living area. This project is a good example of how adapting a home and making it fully accessible for wheelchair use need not mean a compromise on quality of design
