Draft: Side Extension and Timber porch, CRAIGTOUN

The design of this house consisted of a single story side extension and timber porch to the front of the property. There were some internal renovations to the rear of the house which includes reducing the size of the main bathroom to give the bedroom more space. The new extension contains an ensuite, utility room, an open plan family / dining room, and additional storage.

The layout is designed to create a more functional and sociable ground floor space with clear entrances that link the indoors to the outdoors. Skylights in the new roofs allow for more natural daylight into the rooms. A light cladding is proposed to make what is generally a darker area of the site feel brighter and more welcoming.
