Sustainable New-Build Country Home

This project is a new dwelling and detached garage within the cluster of cottages and farm buildings. The contemporary, curved, new-build home with feature a distinctive single-storey curved form, complemented by a two-storey element above the central living area. The design also includes a detached two-car garage with additional storage space.
The aim is to create a sustainable, energy-efficient home that integrates harmoniously into the existing working farmstead. The proposed scale and materials are carefully considered to reflect the character of the site while meeting the clientβs current business and personal needs.
The curved design of the house is intended to connect with the surrounding buildings, while creating a continuous south-facing façade that maximises solar gain and frames expansive views of the landscape. To support environmental performance, the home will incorporate local renewable energy systems, including an air source heat pump and solar panels. Extensive glazing to the south will further enhance passive solar heating and natural light throughout the interior.
