A New Build House Design with a Central Courtyard
Built on beautiful farmland in Fife, this new-build family home was designed with longevity and the environment at its heart. Our clients wanted a highly energy-efficient, eco-friendly home that would adapt to their needs for a lifetime.
To achieve this, we focused on a design that maximises natural daylight and utilises large, south-facing windows for passive solar gain—reducing the house's carbon footprint while keeping the interior bright and welcoming. We wanted the family to feel connected to the shifting Scottish landscape but also sheltered given the exposed site, creating a space where they can comfortably enjoy the elements from both inside and out.
With a thoughtful 'ageing in place' strategy integrated from the very start, the layout prioritises accessibility and seamless mobility, ensuring this remains a practical, comfortable, and cherished family home for many years to come.
