To begin summarizing  an entire year (well 4 months in our case!) we hold no reservations in saying it has been a very encouraging start to our practice and very busy run up to close of play at the end of December. November was a very busy period which saw us securing 2 new commissions; a full building warrant application in St Monans for internal renovations / attic conversion and a full refurbishment and rear extension to a traditional stone cottage and extension for an up-market  holiday cottage near Crail.

We also had a number of enquiries  which included a whole house renovation and proposals for a cafe in the East Neuk both of which could go ahead in 2012. We have been getting at least one enquiry a week and the prospective clients keep coming. We are also getting really good feedback from our website and most clients say it helped them understand the process before making the initial contact which saves us time and helps everyone focus on what is most important, design. Lets hope that running into 2012 the economy and the housing market lift up and we hope to get given more chances to work with even more great clients. It has been also encouraging to see wide interest among a number of our clients on green design and sustainability.

Fermin has also been very busy with uni work and as part of the course developed a full sustainability town study for the town of Crieff. He is also in the works of developing a Green Smart device Application in service of sustainable design. (watch this space!…it is his intention to have the app available for download very soon!)

The winner’s podium

November also marked our first award experience as Fermin and father Ropo travelled to London for the 6th Annual International Green Awards. Ropo’s entry on behalf of our partner and reaserch studio, EcoArki, won in the category of “Best Collaborative Initiative” for Ropo’s wonderful work with AGRORURAL in Peru and planting 235 million trees. (that’s right 235 MILLION!)

Again, a very encouraging start and very good year in 2011. We look ahead to 2012 with optimism and with a goal of hopefully securing a larger comission. We feel ready to tackle larger housing and bigger commercial projects. We hope we can get the chance!.

See you in 2012!
